Speaker

Good8/10Mid-range

Logitech's Ultimate Ears makes some of the toughest portable speakers, with 360-degree sound in designs that survive drops, dunks and even float. The fourth-generation Wonderboom, Boom and Megaboom added USB-C and more recycled materials alongside the new Everboom. Sound is loud and fun rather than audiophile.

Good at

  • Very tough: waterproof, drop-tested and they float
  • Loud 360-degree sound from Boom and Megaboom
  • Wonderboom is a top pick among small, cheap speakers
  • PartyUp links many UE speakers together

Weak at

  • Sound less refined than Bose at similar prices
  • Fewer app features and EQ options than JBL

Best for: Outdoor, pool and beach use where toughness matters
