Reference

Emoji are drawn by the font, so the same character looks different on macOS, Windows, Android and in each chat app. The code point is the only part that is the same everywhere.

Skin-tone variants are left out: each one is the base emoji followed by a tone modifier (U+1F3FB–U+1F3FF), and listing all five would quintuple the grid.

Instructions

A picker for all 1914 standard emoji — the 20 most used up front, the rest searchable by name, keyword or code point, and copyable as the character or as an escape for HTML, CSS or JavaScript.

  1. To convert, paste into Convert: emoji (😀🚀), names (rocket, party popper), code points (U+1F600, 1F600) or escapes (🚀, \u{1F680}, \1F680). Each emoji is listed with every format — click a value to copy it.
  2. Grab one of the 20 most-used emoji from the top row, or search.
  3. Search by name (rocket), by a keyword the name does not contain (happy, lol), or by code point (1F600).
  4. Narrow to one category with the chips, or leave it on All.
  5. Pick the copy format: Emoji for the character, HTML, CSS or JS for an escape to paste into code, Code point for U+… notation.
  6. Click an emoji to copy it in that format.

Tips

  • In Convert, put separate names on separate lines or between commas. A name that is not exact shows every emoji it matches instead.
  • When a paste holds more than one emoji, the All row copies the whole lot in one format at once.
  • Extra words narrow the search: flag nz and face sweat both work.
  • Most used is Unicode’s own frequency ranking — the 20 emoji people actually reach for, most frequent first.
  • The last 24 emoji you copied stay under Recently copied, in this browser only — nothing is sent anywhere and the page works offline.
  • Both quick-pick rows hide as soon as you search or pick a category, so they never sit between you and your results.
  • Sequences such as 👨‍💻 and 🇳🇿 are several code points joined together, so their HTML and JS escapes have more than one part. Copy the whole thing, not a piece of it.
  • For dashes, quotes, arrows and currency, the Special Characters picker is the better fit.
  • Hit Example, then click the search box for a sample lookup or a category chip to filter.
