FA Dev Tools

TLDR

Paste text or a link and get the short version — as bullets, a summary, or a full breakdown. To summarise a book by its title, use Summarize.

Summarised as text. 0 / 20,000 characters.

Result

9 bullet points, one sentence each. Nothing else.

How many points the summary carries — the bullet list for Short, Key points for Normal, Key takeaways for Detail. 3–20, 9 by default. A thin source can still come back with fewer.

Off — the summary uses nothing but the source you gave. Nothing is added.

Summary

Nothing summarised yet. Paste a source above and hit Summarise.

Powered by DeepSeek (deepseek-v4-flash). A summarise that never answers is usually a usage limit on the key.

Instructions

Turn a long thing into a short thing: paste text or drop in a link, pick how much detail you want, and get a Markdown summary back.

  1. Paste what you want summarised into Source — an article, a thread, meeting notes, anything. On its own, https://…, http://… or something starting www. is fetched instead, and the page's text is what gets summarised. Anything else is treated as text, so an email address or a filename is summarised rather than looked up.
  2. Pick the result size: Short (under 10 one-sentence bullets), Normal (a paragraph plus key points) or Detail (sections per topic and key takeaways) — and set Points to how many you want in the list.
  3. Leave Research the topic off to summarise strictly what you pasted, or tick it to get an extra Background section on the end.
  4. Hit Summarise. Stop cancels a summarise already on its way; Copy Markdown takes the result as-is.

Tips

  • Research the topic is not a web search — there is no live lookup on this page. Off, the model may use only your source. On, it adds what it already knows about the subject, kept in its own Background section so you can tell the two apart. That knowledge has a training cutoff, so treat anything recent in there with suspicion.
  • The link path reads one page — the URL you give it, following at most three redirects. It cannot get past a login wall, a paywall or a page that renders entirely in JavaScript; when the result looks thin, paste the text instead.
  • PDFs and other non-text links are refused rather than mangled. Only hosts on the public internet are fetched.
  • Source is capped at 20,000 characters, and a longer page is cut to fit — the summary then covers the start of it, and the line above the result says so. That is a chapter at best, so for a whole book use Summarize, which works from the title.
  • The box, both settings and the last summary are kept in this browser's local storage and come back on reload.
  • Summaries are cached on the server for 90 days, so the same source at the same settings comes back instantly. The text you paste is not stored — only a fingerprint of it, plus the summary (and a link's address and page title). A link is not re-read while its summary is cached; hit Regenerate beside “cached” to run it fresh.
  • Replies come from DeepSeek and spend real credits, so check anything you are going to act on against the source.
  • Points is a target, not a quota: 3–20, 9 by default. A source too thin to carry that many comes back with fewer rather than padded out.
  • Hit Example, then click Short, Normal, Detail or Summarise to load a sample article and summarise it at that size.
