Sanitise

Instructions

- Copy something formatted from Word, Excel, Docs or a web page, press Sanitise clipboard, and paste — the formatting is gone. Before and after are shown underneath.
Tips
- Sanitise clipboard rewrites your clipboard in place. It always drops the rich-text flavour (tables, fonts, sizes, bold, colours), normalises line endings to LF, turns curly quotes into straight ones, replaces non-breaking and other exotic spaces, drops zero-width and control characters, and trims trailing whitespace and runs of blank lines. The browser will ask for clipboard permission the first time.
- The options: Flatten tables joins tab-separated cells with a space (indentation is kept); Remove special chars turns dashes and bullets into
-, spells ©, ™ and → in ASCII and drops emoji and other symbols; Trim every line also strips leading spaces — off for code; ASCII only strips accents and removes everything else outside plain ASCII, Chinese included. Toggling one re-cleans the result on screen; press Sanitise again (or Copy) to put it on the clipboard. The options are remembered in this browser and shared with the Desktop widget. - Example demonstrates Sanitise clipboard — a messy sample before and after, without touching your clipboard.
