CPU / processor

Good7.5/10Mid-range

Intel had a rough stretch: Raptor Lake chips could degrade until microcode fixes landed, and the first Arrow Lake chips disappointed in games. The 2026 Plus refresh was well received and offers good value, but its socket ends with this generation as Nova Lake moves to a new one.

Good at

  • Core Ultra 200S Plus (2026) closed much of the gaming gap
  • Strong multi-core value for editing and productivity
  • Integrated graphics and Quick Sync on most models
  • 13th/14th Gen boxed warranty extended to five years

Weak at

  • 2024 Vmin shift instability degraded some 13th/14th Gen chips
  • Original Arrow Lake (2024) trailed in gaming
  • LGA1851 is short-lived; Nova Lake needs a new socket
  • Top 14th Gen chips run hot and power-hungry

Graphics card

Mixed6/10Budget

Intel's Arc cards, especially the B580, offer strong value for 1080p/1440p gaming with more VRAM than rivals at the price. Drivers have improved a lot, but game compatibility and CPU overhead still make it a choice for informed buyers.

Good at

  • Arc B580 offers 12GB VRAM at a low price
  • XeSS upscaling and strong AV1 encoding
  • Clean, compact Limited Edition design

Weak at

  • Some older or less-common games still run poorly
  • Performance drops on older CPUs (driver overhead)
  • Needs Resizable BAR; no high-end cards
