Good7/10Mid-range

Since splitting from Huawei, Honor has become a credible Samsung alternative, with Magic flagships and V foldables praised for cameras, battery and design. Local support is still building in Australia and New Zealand, where it only recently expanded.

Good at

  • Magic flagships well reviewed for cameras and battery
  • Magic series: 7 years of OS/security updates in EU and UK
  • Thin, light Magic V foldables
  • Full Google services, unlike Huawei

Weak at

  • Update promise outside EU/UK may be shorter
  • MagicOS feels busy with extra apps
  • Newer to NZ and AU, with a smaller service footprint
  • Not sold in the US
