Good7/10Mid-range

Hitachi air conditioners come from the former Johnson Controls-Hitachi business, bought outright by Bosch in 2025. Units are respected but have a smaller footprint outside Asia.

Good at

  • Well-built units with a good reliability record
  • Popular air conditioner brand in Hong Kong
  • Yutaki air-to-water heat pumps in Europe

Weak at

  • Smaller retail presence than the leaders in NZ and AU
  • Brand now controlled by Bosch, so future range may change
