RAM

Mixed6/10Budget

ADATA's XPG memory is a reasonable budget alternative that works fine at rated speeds in most reports. It rarely leads on performance or price, so it tends to be bought when on sale rather than by choice.

Good at

  • XPG Lancer kits are competitively priced
  • Limited lifetime warranty on XPG desktop kits
  • Low-profile Lancer Blade suits big air coolers

Weak at

  • Smaller range of high-bin, tight-timing kits
  • RMA usually runs through the distributor, not ADATA
  • Less reviewer coverage than the top memory brands

Mixed6/10Budget

ADATA/XPG drives are strong on price, but the brand is remembered for changing parts in the SX8200 Pro after it had been reviewed. Current higher-end models are good; buy the budget ones as bulk storage only.

Good at

  • Legend and Gammix drives are often very cheap
  • Gammix S70 Blade was a fast PCIe 4.0 drive
  • Five-year warranty on higher-end models

Weak at

  • SX8200 Pro swapped controller/NAND after reviews (2020)
  • Budget Legend models vary in parts and endurance
  • Warranty handled mainly through distributors
