Mixed6/10Budget

Acer wins on price, and its gaming and Chromebook models are good value. Build and screen quality in the cheapest ranges trail rivals, so it suits buyers on a tight budget who check reviews for the exact model.

Good at

  • Low prices across Aspire, Nitro and Chromebook ranges
  • Nitro and Predator Helios give strong gaming specs for the price
  • Swift models offer decent light laptops at mid prices

Weak at

  • Budget models cut corners on screens, speakers and build
  • Plenty of preinstalled software
  • Service experiences vary by country and retailer
