Timezone

Every IANA time zone with its local time, UTC offset, abbreviation and daylight-saving rules. Search by city, country, alias (usa, uk), abbreviation (pst, nzdt) or offset (utc+8, +5:30), and open any zone for its details and next clock change.

The zone list and each zone's country come from the IANA tz database (zone.tab). Offsets, names, abbreviations and clock changes are read live from the browser's own tz data via Intl.DateTimeFormat, so they follow the platform rather than a hand-written table.

Store the IANA name, not the offset or the abbreviation. An offset changes twice a year in DST zones, and abbreviations are ambiguous — CST is Central (US), China and Cuba.

Instructions

Every IANA time zone in one table: the time there now, its UTC offset, abbreviation and whether it is on daylight saving. Open a zone for its standard and daylight offsets and the date its clocks next change.

  1. Type in the search box — a city (auckland), a country or alias (usa, uk), an abbreviation (pst, cest) or an offset (utc+8, +5:30).
  2. Narrow with the region and DST chips, and switch between By offset (west to east) and By name — or click any column header to sort by it, and click it again to reverse.
  3. Click a zone's name to open it in the panel above the table: the live time, standard and daylight offsets, the next two clock changes, and the zone's location.
  4. Click the ★ beside a zone to pin it to the top. Pins are remembered.
  5. Click the IANA name or ISO 8601 value in the panel to copy it.

Tips

  • An abbreviation search finds a zone whichever half of the year it is in — pst finds Los Angeles in September, when its clocks say PDT.
  • An offset search lists zones on that offset now first, then the ones that reach it at some other point in the year.
  • vs you and the +1 day marker are relative to this browser's time zone. Pinned zones stay on top through searches, filters and sorting, and while searching the best matches come first, sorted within each match level.
  • Observes DST means the offset changes at some point in the year, measured from this year's rules — so Morocco's Ramadan change counts, and a country that dropped DST does not.
  • Old names still work in a search — calcutta, kiev, saigon — and the panel shows them as formerly. Chrome still reports some zones by their old name; they are listed here under the current one.
  • Nothing leaves the browser. The sibling DateTime page converts a timestamp, and Date Format shows how each country writes a date.
  • Hit Example and click the search box to run the pst lookup.
